Early morning - 6:40 - departure from Buffalo as we made our final leg to Great Falls. 395 miles and 8 hours later we arrived. Great Falls is a nice city in northern Montana. We found the RV park and met the wagonmaster and tailgunner for our tour. The Wagonmaster, Ken, will lead the way, make all arrangements and plans. Spence, the tailgunner, will be there to help anyone who has mechanical trouble while we are on the road. We attended a social at 4:00, received our name badges and met most of the other people going on the tour. One couple is from El Paso - the rest are from all over the country and Canada. There are 17 RV's here and we will pick up 3 more in Prince George Canada. With the wagonmaster and tailgunner there will be a total of 22 RV's on the tour. We have the next two days to get a little paperwork done and then Wednesday afternoon we have orientation and a dinner. We leave here on Thursday morning.

After dinner at a Montana Mexican Restaurant - we should have known better - we set out to see the "Great Falls." The first we saw is the 3rd picture above - it is Black Hawk Falls. Some little old man there said if we wanted to see the Great Falls of the Missouri River we should go to Ryan Dam about 9 miles down river. We made the trip even though we were dog tired of driving, and we are glad we did. Ryan Dam Falls are 96' high and were pretty spectacular. Down river from the falls was and island you could reach from a swinging bridge. The island was a beautiful park with tables and viewing platforms to see the falls. Pretty neat place - glad we made the trip.

Tomorrow we are going to Glacier Nat'l park - about 140 miles away. They say it is awesome. Sure hope so. I'll report on it tomorrow. Til then - Happy Trails!
